3 Roadside Emergency Kit Necessities

March 16, 2016 Leave a Comment

Dealing with the aftermath of an automobile accident can be extremely difficult, but it can be even more trying if you have to go through it unprepared. There are over six million car accidents every year in the United States so it is important to take proper precautions and ensure you are ready to handle any situation.

Preparing for an accident can seem somewhat somber or grim, but thinking about having the right tools and provisions in case of an accident could help keep you safe or even save your life. One method of ensuring your safety in the event of car troubles or auto accidents is to have an emergency roadside kit.

By having a roadside emergency kit in your vehicle at all times, you will be ready if you are ever involved in an accident or experience some type of car trouble.

If you or someone you know has been involved in a motor vehicle accident caused by of someone else’s negligent actions, you may be eligible for financial compensation. To learn more, contact the Clearwater injury lawyers of Tragos, Sartes & Tragos, P.L.L.C., at 727-441-9030.

What Should Always Be In Your Emergency Kit

You can stock your emergency kit with a variety of items to help in case of an accident or breakdown but there are a few items that are essential. These include:

  • Cellular phone – although almost everyone has a personal cell phone, it may be a good idea to have a backup in case yours dies
  • Warning triangles or flares – lets others know where you are
  • Flashlight with extra batteries – one of the most important tools you can have, especially in the event of a night-time incident
  • Well-stocked first aid kit
  • Jumper cables
  • Blankets or an extra coat
  • Water bottles and some sort of nonperishable food like energy bars

These are only a few items you should keep in your roadside emergency kit. You should also make sure you have a first aid kit and even food or drink in case of an emergency situation.
