2016 Winner: Alice Yoon

The 2016 winner of the Write Your Own Law Scholarship is Alice Yoon, an Atlanta native and rising Freshman at Mercer University.  Once notified as the winner, Alice had the following to say:

“My name is Alice and I grew up around the Atlanta area for most of my life. I will be attending Mercer University beginning this Fall, and, consequently, will be living further south than I have ever been. I am planning on pursuing a B.S. in Psychology and minoring in Spanish. After completing my undergraduate education, I hope to enroll in medical school to obtain an MD or to go on to pursue a PhD or PsyD. It is my hope to enter into a profession as a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist. These plans, however, are subject to change. Regardless of where I end up, I understand that an education is a privilege and will fight to keep the value of education in mind. I would like to thank the team at Tragos Law for helping me along on this journey.

I am thankful to have been offered this $500 to go towards my pursuit of higher education. Following my high school graduation, I took a gap year partially due to college being something outside of my family’s financial reach. While $500 does not seem like much next to the costs associated with attending a university, I am sincerely grateful that through this scholarship I can move closer to experiencing my hopes of receiving an education as a reality. Thank you Tragos Law for your willingness to support students in their pursuit of their potential.”
