What should I do if the insurance company offers me a check right away?

I don’t say this a lot, but call a lawyer immediately. Most of the time I tell people, “Get medical treatment. Make sure you’re talking to people to make sure you’re getting yourself physically better, but if an insurance company is banging down your door early, you need to call a lawyer to make sure that your rights are protected and you’re not signing away something that could hurt you in the future.”
