What is forfeiture?
Forfeiture is when the state or federal government seize your property because that property is related to a crime and therefore they take it and they permanently take it. Sometimes they give it back to a victim, sometimes they keep it, use it for themselves, sell it, use the money, but it’s all related to a crime and it’s taken from a defendant who committed a crime and this is the result of that crime.
